On September 23, 2010, a unique exhibition titled “Joseph Beyrle: The Hero for Two Nations” opened at the Gallery of the Sverdlov Regional Natural History Museum in Yekaterinburg. The main focus of the exhibition is the extraordinary life of a US paratrooper to fight in both the American and Soviet Armies during World War II. The exhibition is organized by the State Russian Museum and the Foundation for International Arts & Education. On display are over 260 items, including orders, medals, insignias, uniforms and wartime effects as well as photographs and archive materials. The exhibit was on display in the Stroganov Palace of the Russian Museum, The Great Patriotic War Museum on Poklonnaya Gora in Moscow, in the Prikaz Chamber of the Pskov Kremlin. Its final port of call in Russia is Yekaterinburg. Opening date: September 23, 2010 |
